Island Dancer

After attending the Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival in 2018 I had the opportunity to capture the performance of a group of dancers and drummers displaying their exceptional musical skills.

This young girl was so rhythmic with profound energies I found it captivating and spellbinding.I was able to capture a shot of her in full dance movement and paint her for a moment in time captured in oil on canvas.

Her dress was brilliant in colour and shone under the afternoon sun.
I was hoping to meet this dancer the following year and present the painting to her but that option never presented itself.

I find myself always taking pictures of performing arts to paint and capture the memory of the opportunity I had to witness such wonderful acts.
